Hug-A-Bug's Schedule

So here is Hug-A-Bug's schedule.  He LOVES it and totally holds me accountable to it.  It hasn't changed that much over the last 18 months.

I do sit with him and do his math, piano practice and poetry every day.  He sits in on the VP on-line history with his sister (although lately he would rather play with Chunky).  For spelling, language arts, and comprehension, he does most of it on his own with some instruction from me at the beginning.

Every Sunday, I put together his "homework sheet" which basically just tells him what he is expected to do each day.  Here is the one for next week:

BOOK OF THE WEEK
Nate the Great & The Stolen Base by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat

I use Word for this which makes it simple to just update and save as that week (this one is saved under his efolder as "week of Jan 9th"). I print it out and then tape it into his book.  I have found the composition books are great for this;

I really like using these books.  It gives me all of the work they have done all in one place, it is easy to check off the subjects as they complete them, and when it comes to updating for the following week, I simply go to their "homework books" and see where we left off.

As he finishes up a subject on a particular day, I check it off in his book and once it is all done - he gets a little sticker for that day :)
